I’m a 45-year-old mother of two, navigating the ups and downs of life with my 21-year-old son and 16-year-old daughter. My journey began in my teens with anorexia, OCD, depression, and anxiety, leading me to outpatient treatment in high school and inpatient treatment briefly before college. I struggled with alcohol in my early twenties, which became a crutch for my emotional challenges. After years of on-and-off drinking, I made a life-changing decision to quit in May 2019, and have been sober ever since. Today, I channel my emotions into poetry and prose, having used my artistic skills to publish an award-winning memoir. I am also a peer support to dozens of sober women, an active member of my local community, and a firm believer in the healing power of creativity. I’m passionate about helping others facing similar struggles, particularly around alcohol use, eating disorders, and mental health.
