I grew up in a not-healthy family and started dating an abusive boyfriend at age 13. I went on to marry him and in my 20's, I was dealing with alcohol addiction, which led to multiple DUIs and a crushing sense of worthlessness and shame. Around the time I got sober, my brother (who was gay) committed suicide. I turned things around in my 30's. I had a baby boy, left the abusive marriage, and did lots and lots of work on myself. Now I am remarried and - after 4 years of secondary infertility & IVF treatments - am pregnant again. I love my life with my husband, 9-year-old son, and baby girl on the way.
